Dear Agile,

I have a dilemma with my team.  My daily scrum always goes over the time box.  We seem to be getting sucked into solving the impediments the team is having.  How to do I keep them on track to the 15 minutes time box?  It's not that the impediments have to be tackled.  Please, I need ideas.  Hopefully very soon.

Regards,

ElenaD.(ScrumMaster)

Answer: This is a problem many teams have. Let the team raise the impediment as they should, and let them know you will follow up with them immediately after the stand up. If it is an impediment the team can solve on its own, let them; if not, find a way to resolve it. If it is not an impediment, keep them on track by suggesting they take the discussion offline to complete the stand up.
